[Written for the Sentinel]

A Hymn for All Nations

O Lord of all, in trusting Thee
We offer songs of praise
For mercies past, and promises;
Our prayers to Thee we raise.
Enrich our lives, unfold our thoughts;
And may we live in Thee,
All peaceful nations of the earth,
In love and unity.

O Lord of life, beseeching Thee,
With hope all earth aspires.
We pray each day for greater grace
To broaden our desires,
Beseeching Thee with open hearts
To lead our steps aright,
To strengthen us in loyalty,
To give us power and might.

In one grand brotherhood of love,
Enlist us, Lord, to-day;
In armies of true might uplift,
To seek a higher way.
With all our trials bound in one,
We share each other's strife;
With holy bonds encircle us,
O Lord of love and life.

Guide our intelligence aright
To broadest, deepest thought,
To all remembrances of peace,
How dearly it was bought;
Give us each day a higher sense
Of love's fraternity;
Bind all the nations of this earth
In love and unity.
