With a profound sense of gratitude for our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and as a cup of cold water to others who are longing for refreshment, I wish to give my testimony as to some of the many blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science.

For a number of years prior to my becoming interested in this healing truth, I suffered from an aggravated form of stomach trouble, for which I had used every material remedy obtainable, with nothing more than temporary relief. I was also despondent, having considered the Bible to be but a bundle of contradictions. While in this condition a Christian Science Sentinel was handed to me, and I was asked to read it; and it proved to be the star of hope to lead me to the fullness of that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." After I had received a few treatments from a practitioner, and had been studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy for about two weeks, a Scientist friend asked me one day how I was progressing; and I said, "Oh, all right, I guess. I know I shall get well after a while." She lovingly rebuked me by saying, "Don't limit God by setting a time, place, or condition to get well," and quoted from Paul's second epistle to the Corinthians: "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." Then she said, "When you go home, eat what is set before you and fear not." From that hour my gain was rapid, and I was soon able to overcome fear of food and thereby gain freedom and health. That was eleven years ago. Since that time the understanding I have gained of God through the study of the Bible, together with Science and Health and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, has been my only help in every need. I have witnessed the overcoming of numerous diseases in my family, among them pneumonia, measles, mumps, and influenza. One of my little boys was healed of rupture after a specialist had pronounced his case incurable.

For these proofs that God is the power, and for the great light thrown upon the Scriptures, I am sincerely grateful. It gives me such a growing sense of joy and satisfaction in the surety of one's true self as God's image and likeness.
