It is with the earnest desire to share my blessings and spread the gospel to all the world that I send this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me.

About three years ago an opportunity to prove God's love and power to heal broken bones was given me. On leaving our apartment very hurriedly I pulled the door after me, knowing its Yale lock would catch; but just before it shut completely, I slipped on the newly polished floor of the hall. I instinctively put out my hand to protect myself from falling, and the left hand was caught in the hinged part of the closing door, three of the fingers being wedged so tight that I had to kick the door to open it. Two fingers were terribly bruised, and a third was so crushed that hardly any resemblance to a finger was left. The sight and pain nauseated me; but worse than this was the thought that came almost instantly, that the practitioner who had helped me most was out of the State, and how could I tell my need in a single message? I am very grateful to say that in a few moments I had reached the perception that this one practitioner had not taken God or Christian Science away with her; that the supply of truth was just as available as ever, and there were others to help.

At once I went to the telephone and called a practitioner, who lovingly comforted me and promised me immediate help. I wrapped up the little finger; and after vainly trying to study, decided to retire for the night. While I was preparing for bed the thought came: Why are you grieving? Rejoice, and thank God that you have another chance to prove His love and His allness. Immediately I commenced to sing my thanks. At once the sense of pain lessened; sleep came shortly afterwards; and I awakened in the morning free from all pain, with all marks of injury gone except from the little finger. This was still ugly to look upon; so I wrapped it in clean gauze to keep it from being seen. I did not unwrap it for three days; then I discovered that what doctors call proud flesh was in evidence. I told the practitioner; and the next day it had vanished. The healing was complete; the nail did not even come off. It was black underneath for a few days, but was finally as clean as the rest. I did not lose an hour from my work, and used the typewriter as usual. I am indeed grateful for this healing; but the main lesson to me was the demonstration over personality regarding practitioners.
