[Written for the Sentinel]

My Prayer

To be content with God's unfolding plan; to hope, to trust, and some day understand: nor doubt, nor fear, the while it seems obscure, His willingness to guide and guard and reassure—

My prayer.

To be content to strive to look within for all that soils or stains or fosters sin: to look without the erring sense of self, and with God's grace behold my unselfed better self—

My prayer.

And in this better self to try to live; to seek to serve, to love, and to forgive: to know my steps and path will plainer grow, as I discern to-day what God to me doth show—

My prayer.
