A tree is judged by its fruit; as one "thinketh in his heart, so is he." If he thinks truly, he will act wisely; if he thinks wrongly, he will go the way of error in action. One's standing in a community is valued according to what he thinks and says and does. Wrong mental pictures are not regarded with favor in ethical teaching; false syntax is no longer looked upon as a good and true method of teaching the correct use of language. It is not necessary that one be acquainted with all the forms of vice and iniquity that he may love and cherish purity and goodness. The religious teacher endeavors to keep before the thought of those whom he would uplift, high models and lofty ideals; he should know, and does know, that if he is critical and judges his brother, and regards iniquity in his heart, he will not be held guiltless. If he is awake, he knows it is imperative that he think no evil; if he is wise, he will make no attempt to steady the ark of another, unless his own ship or household is in order. "He that knows, and knows that he knows, is a wise man." One will do well to follow him. Those who have reliable information concerning the life and labors of Mrs. Eddy testify that she was a remarkable personage, highly intelligent, spiritually gifted, gracious in manner; they say that her place in history is secure; they say that Mrs. Eddy lived close to God; that she was a devout and earnest student of the Bible; that she taught optimism, and that her followers are "healthy, hopeful, happy, and prosperous."

Christian Science is a benediction to all those who understand its teaching and live it; it is the religion of love and truthfulness and justice and honesty; it is the truth about God and man and the universe. Christian Science is Christian because it is the teaching of the Master; and because it is the teaching of the Master, it is true, and hence scientific. Christian Science helps one to throw off his self-imposed troubles, including ill health, and makes him sunny, hopeful, cheerful; it shows one what real health is; it shows him how to find it, and how to keep it; it helps one to break up and put out of his life sinful and useless habits. Christian Science is "Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
