A little over four years ago, the healing efficacy of Christian Science was brought to me very forcibly. After a consultation of four of the ablest physicians, who said that my wife had gallstones and a stone in one of her kidneys, the verdict was given: "In your wife's present condition we can do nothing. In fact, we regret to tell you that she will live only twenty-four hours." On the way home, after the physicians had pronounced this sentence, the "stil small voice" told me to try Christian Science. I got into touch with one of the ever kind and willing practitioners, whom Mrs. Eddy instructs through her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," to give us aid in time of trouble. Treatment was given, with the result that that night my wife enjoyed her first sleep in two weeks. In six days she returned to her family and home, entirely healed. One year later I met the physician who had attended her, and he said, "It is the most wonderful healing I have ever seen in my life."

As for myself, there have been so many healings that I do not know where to begin to tell of them. The first was that of the tobacco habit. I could not do anything without a cigar, and of late years it was just one smoke after another. The desire to smoke left me in two or three weeks after taking up the study of Christian Science for the healing of my wife; and I have had no further desire for tobacco. I have had many other healings; for which I am very grateful. Christian Science is meeting our daily needs in every way. It gives us a peace and joy that passes all understanding; and we are very thankful for having found this blessed truth.

To say we are grateful does not express the depth of gratitude we owe to Mrs. Eddy for revealing the Word of enlightenment, and to the loving practitioner who helped us to know the "Great Physician," who heals all our diseases and leads us out of darkness (ignorance) into light (understanding). It is our desire to learn more and more of this truth, and how to apply it so that we can help our fellow men to see the light. It is with a heart filled with gratitude to God for the many blessings we have received through the study of Christian Science, that I make this statement, with the hope that others may receive the same wonderful help.—George P.
