It is with the greatest pleasure that I endeavor to express in words the gratitude I feel for Christian Science. Returning from German East Africa in the year 1918, physically broken, having suffered from malaria and dysentery, I became acquainted with Christian Science at the Christian Science Reading Room for Soldiers in Bedford, where I was stationed. The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, interested me intensely, and I read it through twice, afterwards commencing a study of the Bible. The result was wonderful. It was like walking out of darkness into the sunshine; and as I bathed in its warm rays, I realized that I had found what I had been in search of for years. I had found God!

It was at this point I discovered that I had forgotten all about my disease; and from that time I have never had the slightest sign of a return of either malaria or dysentery. I was able to relinquish a military pension for disability, in direct opposition to the advice of the medical officers, who asserted that I could not possibly be cured so quickly.

The four years that have elapsed since that time have been like one long, happy day. Demonstration has followed demonstration; and, to-day, everything that is done in my home is done, so far as our knowledge permits, scientifically. The result is really wonderful—so wonderful that my wife and I, although we know that nothing is impossible to God, yet, when recounting our blessings, are forced to behold with awe the tremendous power of Love. Our two little boys are just bundles of joy. We have no fear for their safety, knowing that as children of God they are secure against all suggestions of danger.
