With deepest gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy for the help received through Christian Science, I give this testimony to prove that God is a present help in time of need.

About fice years ago our grandson, then two years old, was stricken with a disease which the medical profession claimed to be incurable—infantile paralysis. The little boy was ordered to be taken to a hospital and placed under a physician's care. His mother being ill at the time, my wife and I decided to take the child to our own home, after which we immediately called a Christian Science practitioner, who took up the work for him at once.

In the beginning the healing seemed slow, on account of the great amount of fear to be overcome. About three o'clock one morning, the little boy had a sinking spell, and it looked as though we should have to part with him. He was unconscious, and could not be aroused from the stupor he was in. I immediately telephoned to the practitioner, and she answered with these encouraging words: "Do not let fear overcome you; cling to God and know that God is his Life and your strength. Take the Bible and turn to Isaiah, forty-first chapter, tenth verse, which reads: 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.'" I kept reading this verse aloud; and in about ten minutes the little boy awakened, and asked for a drink of water. All was harmoniously and from that time on he kept improving. While the physicians claimed that he would never be able to walk, he is to-day going to the public school, attending the Christian Science Sunday School, and well and active as active as any normal child of his age.
