Signs of the Times

[From the Oregon Parent-Teacher, Oak Grove, Ore., January, 1923]

President J. S. Landis of the Oregon State Normal School in his talk before the State Convention, expressed his belief in the public schools as agencies for the upbuilding of democracy. "God is Love," he declared, "and Love alone will bring together all sects and creeds; and when Love shall lead, then shall we meet on one common ground—the making of better citizens for to-morrow."
