[Written for the Sentinel]

Rise and Rejoice

Rise and rejoice!
Earth's little tasks cannot hinder or bind us;
Heavenly errands our feet still employ,
Heavenly messages swiftly we carry,
Heavenly torches of comfort we kindle.
Lord, I am waiting, send me, if Thou wilt,
Touch Thou my lips with white coals from Thine altar,
Purely Thy words they shall utter with joy!
Joyful God's mandates are, joyful His missions;
Spreading the gospel is heavenly labor;
Walking with God, we are rested forever;
Keeping the rhythm of Soul, we have pinions.
Rise and rejoice!
