I became interested in Christian Science through hearing a sermon preached against it. I realized my complete ignorance of the subject, and decided to procure a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and investigate for myself. A friend lent me the book, and I began reading to see what it contained, not thinking to apply it to any particular use.

At this time I was under a heavy strain, both mental and physical, and I soon realized that every time I read in this book I rested. I continued reading, and after a time learned to apply the truth, thereby losing many physical ailments. All my life I had been annoyed with liver trouble and its complications. Every available remedy had been exhausted, and I decided to stop all material methods and give Christian Science a fair trial. The result was that I gradually overcame the physical discords through the understanding of the power of God as taught in Christian Science. Since that time, ten years ago, I have had no remedy but the truth, and it has been sufficient for every need. I was healed of jaundice in an acute stage. I am especially grateful for this experience, for with the healing came an understanding of God as omnipresent Life, which has been a wonderful help to me ever since.

The spiritual understanding which comes from the study and application of the truth as stated in Science and Health, is the greatest thing in the world to me. I am deeply grateful that I was led to investigate Christian Science.
