We are told in the Bible to give thanks,—to rejoice evermore

We are told in the Bible to give thanks,—to rejoice evermore. I am always glad for an opportunity to give thanks for the blessings of Christian Science and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. One day I was asked to help move a refrigerator from a back porch into the kitchen. As we lifted it, it swung round, crushing my hand against the corner of a brick wall. I felt as if every bone were broken; and being a pianist who played a great deal, I feared I should never play again. The pain was intense, the arm dark above the wrist, and the hand out of shape—torn and bleeding. My mother read to me from our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but the pain grew more severe. I then asked her to telephone a Christian Science practitioner; and I ran to the telephone saying, "Tell me this is not true." She said calmly, "It is not true; nothing has happened to you—God's child," and began treatment. She spoke with authority; and I lay down on my bed with a calm and peaceful thought. The pain left; and in twenty minutes I not only felt but seemed to hear the bones go back into place; the swelling, discoloration, and pain had entirely gone; and I arose, and played the piano,—an instantaneous healing through mental surgery.

This is only one instance of what Christian Science has done for me. In my much traveling it is my ever present guide and protection—my comforter in the "land of the stranger." I am profoundly grateful for the Christ, Truth.
