It was with great reluctance that nine years ago I attempted the study of Christian Science at the urgent request of my husband. Because of my seeming lack of desire to gain an understanding of Truth, at that time I made little progress; but the seed of Truth had been sown; and after three years of mental turmoil, I resumed earnestly and humbly the study of this wonderful Science.

Within the past year, with the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, diphtheria has been healed, our three small children having been stricken at the same time. Christian Science treatment was begun; and in compliance with the law the cases were reported to the Health Department, which fain would have insisted on an immediate injection of antitoxin. This was refused. In a short time the high fevers were broken and very little pain experienced, the children not being confined to their beds during the entire period of quarantine.

Recently, one of our boys was attacked with intestinal grippe. Added to this was a severe case of laryngitis. Because of extreme weakness and his inability to retain food or water, the child's condition became alarming. For several days our fear was great; but this fear and all of the distressing symptoms were overcome by the clear thought of the practitioner.
