Christian Science is not autosuggestion, nor is it like it...

New York Herald

Christian Science is not autosuggestion, nor is it like it in any way. Autosuggestion is self-hypnotism, and hypnotism is the antipode of Christian Science. In the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 453), by Mary Baker Eddy, we read: "A Christian Scientist's medicine is Mind, the divine Truth that makes man free. A Christian Scientist never recommends material hygiene, never manipulates. He does not trespass on the rights of mind nor can he practise animal magnetism or hypnotism." God is the power in Christian Science; and when mankind learns somewhat of the grandeur of working with God it will turn forever away from all lower methods.
