[Written for the Sentinel]

Love

Our Father-Mother God is Love,
Truth infinite, divine,
Supplying every perfect gift;
And all these gifts are mine,
To give my brother, who reflects
The truth he loves in me:
And conscious only of all good,
We dwell in unity.

All that I ever get or give
Is love, by Love bestowed;
And naught but good can find a place
In such secure abode.
I do not fear the angry clouds
That oft do threaten me;
For ever present Love has proved
Their unreality.

Free from sickness, sin, and death,
From sorrow, pain, and grief,
From every ill of mortal sense,
Or claim of false belief,
I need not wait for greater proof
Of God's protecting care,
Nor doubt that heaven is here and now;
Since Love is everywhere.
