From all methods which make use of the human mentality in the healing of disease, or regard it as the healing factor itself, Christian Science differs radically and entirely. It relies, as Christ Jesus did, on the power of God to heal all manner of disease, but it requires more than blind faith to demonstrate such healing. Christian Science affords practical demonstration of the understanding of God, the divine Principle of all that really exists, and of man made in the image and likeness of God, and who is therefore spiritual and not material. Many years ago it was asked, "Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?" Yet to-day there are many who believe it impossible that God can and does heal all diseases, even though such doubters aver that God is omnipotent. True, many people find it harder to believe that God can heal a "tuberculosis joint" as easily as a nervous complaint; but the saying of Christ Jesus, "According to your faith be it unto you," is still demonstrable.

Christian Science avoids the pitfalls of mistaken diagnoses by going directly to the cause of disease,—the human mentality; and it heals through the understanding and application of divine Mind or Truth. Christian Scientists claim freedom to avail themselves of what they have proved to be a more efficacious method in the treatment of disease.
