I have wanted for a number of years to express my appreciation of Christian Science. Between eight and nine years ago, while operating my farm, my desire to lift a debt and my worry over other affairs caused a complete physical breakdown. For many weeks I slept very little and ate very little, being continually nauseated. I gradually grew weaker and weaker, being overcome by sinking spells several times a day. This alarmed my family, and as the doctors employed seemed unable to help me, I was persuaded to try Christian Science, although I had no faith in it. I drove to a near-by town to a practitioner, and after talking with her arranged for treatment. I fully expected my sleepless nights would come the same as before; but, much to my surprise, they did not. Then, to give it a still further test, I ate anything and everything, and as much as I wanted, with no bad effects. I also began reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My interest grew as I found that this seemed to be what I had always been looking for. I sometimes neglected the reading, but in times of need Christian Science was always my physician. Since that time I have been healed of many ailments, among them colds, headaches, ulcerated teeth, and influenza.

I wish to verify my husband's statements. Having witnessed the healing of a friend through Christian Science, I became interested, and read many of the Sentinels that were sent to me by this friend. As every article which I read mentioned "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I became very curious to know what the book contained, so procured a copy as soon as I could spare the money, and began reading it, though not very understandingly. As so many of the testimonies mentioned the power of Truth to heal, I asked myself, What is this healing Truth, and how will it help my problems? And on reading the "scientific statement of being," on page 468, one day, I knew that I had at last found the truth and was ready to begin demonstrating it.
