AMONG
the many evidences of God's presence and power which were witnessed by the Israelites in wanderings, the crossing of the Jordan was one of the greatest.
TO
his first disciples Jesus said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men;" and they left all and followed him.
THERE
is brief sentence on page 182 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which when read and pondered never fails to make our problem seem simpler and our advancement in the truth more rapid.
IF
we were to ask one who knows nothing of Christian Science what constitutes living, in all probability the answer would be that it consists of all the varied daily experiences of each and all; by this, meaning every phase of human activity, every so-called human pleasure or pain, perhaps at the same time believing that the more the so-called pleasure exceeds the bounds of convention laid down by an orderly society, the more is life being experienced!
Since Christian Science practice does not depend on the supposed power of the so-called human mind, but depends entirely on the power and law of God, there is no reason why one individual may not aid another, whether the patient be absent from or present with the practitioner.
Christian Science teaches that death, as well as sin and disease, are not real, in the sense that they are not of God.
Autosuggestion, self-mesmerism, hypnotism, and suggestive therapeutics are not in harmony with Christian Science, which was discovered and founded by Mary Baker Eddy nearly sixty years ago and is defined on page 1 of her book, "Rudimental Divine Science," as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony.
There is no relation between the metaphysics of Christian Science and the metaphysics which attempts to combine matter with Spirit or divine Mind.
Christ Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe;.
In Christian Science, Truth, the divine Mind, called God, is the sole power which heals both sin and sickness.
New-thought or mental science cannot be coupled with Christian Science because they are opposite in theory and practice.
CHRIST JESUS,
in the twelfth chapter of John's gospel, plainly foretold the experiences which were to befall him; and he forecasted the significance of the crucifixion in these words: "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
