Explanation

On page 457 of the Sentinel of February 3 appears a poem, many lines of which are exact reproductions of a poem written not long since by a well-known poet of the day. As all the poems of this author were not familiar to the Editorial Department, the poem in question was accepted as genuine, and inadvertently published as the work of her whose name appears in connection with it.

Due apologies have been made to the author of the original poem; and regret is hereby expressed that such an incident should have occurred.
