Thirteen years ago I was a sufferer from stomach trouble. As I had heard of a number of healings through Christian Science, I decided to look into it for myself; and the result was that after one treatment I threw away my medicine, which I had felt it was absolutely necessary to take after each meal in order to prevent severe pain. Afterwards I was able to eat what was set before me, with no ill effects. I had been more or less delicate all my life, and at this time was very much discouraged because doctors and medicines had seemed to give only temporary relief; but this healing, with its glimpse of Truth, changed my entire outlook on life. Although there have since been many dark hours, the pathway has been ever upward, and I have learned that "trials are proofs of God's care," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 66 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I am so grateful when I compare my own childhood, with its limitations and fears, with that of my children, who have such comparative freedom, that I became a student of Christian Science before they were born, and that they have the priceless privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. They have not escaped all the so-called children's diseases; but their experiences have been much lighter than my own were under materia medica. A few years ago my little son had scarlet fever; and although he was quarantined for thirty days in accordance with the local health laws, he played about and was perfectly normal after the first day.

Glasses which I had worn for seven years were laid aside after two weeks' treatment in Christian Science. Many physical healings have come to each member of my family, for which I am profoundly grateful; but that for which I am most thankful is the knowledge of God and of our relation to Him, which is being unfolded day by day through the study of the Bible and the illumination thrown upon it by Science and Health.
