The greatest help and blessing of my life has come to me through Christian Science. When, about two years ago, I left my wife and baby in Europe to provide a home for them in this country, a period of hardship and struggle began for me; but this time was even more one of anxiety and sorrow for my wife, with illness in her parental home and the cares of life in her own. Her health finally became broken, and I received the terrible news that she was suffering from the feared pulmonary disease which was considered hereditary in the family.

When everything seemed darkest, God's help was nearest. I had the good fortune to meet with people whose right way of living aroused an interest in me for Christian Science; and in this time of trouble the thought came quite naturally to me that Christian Science would save us. At my request a Christian Science practitioner took up the case with reassuring kindness. He wrote to my wife and gave her absent treatments. The great distance, inharmonious surroundings, and even my wife's lack of understanding were no obstacle in the healing work. Her fear was transformed into joy and trust. Her healing was quick and complete, so that not even a trace remained of the illness. People were amazed at the sudden change, and at seeing her courage and resourcefulness in arranging the preparations for the long voyage to America, while was accomplished successfully.

I am deeply grateful for this demonstration of the omnipotence of divine Love, and also for the understanding of the truth taught in Christian Science, which is now my strength and expectation. I am certainly very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for explaining and demonstrating to us the law of God, and also to the practitioner whose goodness and clear understanding has led us into the way of life and happiness.
