De Scheveninger

Christian Science considers the suffering of this world to be the result of conscious or unconscious disobedience to the law of God. Christian Science reveals to its followers that salvation can be attained only by removing the cause of the suffering, through more fully obeying God's law. Learning to know God more fully as omnipotent, ever present Love, shows us how we can obey His law much better than formerly and more fully acknowledge His supremacy; and also that doubt, fear, and sin are unnecessary and wrong, because they are expressions of belief in a power other than God, whom we know as the eternal and only cause and creator. Christian Science says that this better understanding of God is not an attainment of the human intellect, but a result of letting that Mind be in us "which was also in Christ Jesus," and thereby experiencing more and more of God's redeeming love.
