The Lectures

Atlantic City, N. J. (Second Church).—Mrs. Catharine D. Lewis made the following prefatory remarks at a Christian Science lecture by Miss Lucia C. Coulson:—

These words are found in the fifth chapter of James: "The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;" and also, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." I proved this about fifteen years ago. A member of my family asked me to go to a Christian Science practitioner; but at first, because of the many false statements I had heard concerning Christian Science, I did not wish to go. However, my prejudice was overcome and I went. Much to my surprise and delight I found it was the very thing I was looking for. I left that practitioner's office healed of stomach trouble, and also with a knowledge of how to correct wrong thinking. From that day to this I have never taken medicine; and Christian Science, when properly applied, has met my every need.
