Christian Science came into my life about eight years...

Christian Science came into my life about eight years ago, when I was greatly in need of something to deliver me from the false pleasures of material sense. Later on I had to come very near to "the valley of the shadow of death" to bring about a more complete healing from these false pleasures. Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 260), "If we look to the body for pleasure, we find pain." At this time I was healed of pleurisy, rheumatism, bronchial and tubercular troubles, and other discordant conditions. I realized all through this experience that I was but passing through a purifying of thought. There was never a suggestion of discouragement, and very little fear in the two months required to work out the problem. I am very grateful to the practitioner who so lovingly helped me at this time. There were occasional glimpses of the truth that did indeed stand out as beacon lights along the way. One of these lights was the sentence found on the first page of the Preface to Science and Health, which reads, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

I am indeed grateful to God, to our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
