Early in the fall of 1920 I manifested a physical trouble which took the form of eczema. It proved to be most distressing and irritating. During this trial I entered the valley of the shadow. King David calls death a shadow—not a fact. By the faithful work of a Christian Science practitioner the shadow of death and the cloud of disease were both reduced to their native nothingness.

I cannot find words fittingly to express my appreciation of this glorious truth of being. Neither can I express the gratitude I feel for the life and works of Mary Baker Eddy, and for the work of our practitioners. I rejoice that I have the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church.
