With a heart overflowing with love and gratitude I send this testimony. I first learned something of Christian Science through some of the literature given me by a friend. It seemed the most spiritual literature I had ever read; but I was not yet ready to depend upon it for healing. About two years later, seeing all material remedies fail, I began the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, in earnest. Soon, I found Christian Science was what I had always longed for as a religion. When alone, I read almost every hour. The wonderful illumination of the Scriptures that came to me was a great joy. I continued to read the Bible, our textbook, and Mrs. Eddy's other writings. Six months later, the healing of a displaced organ came. All material means of support were placed aside, for I found "divine Truth more potent than all lower remedies" (Science and Health, p. 180). The extreme suffering and fear were gone. This seemed wonderful to me. Other healings followed: bowel trouble, bilious attacks, colds, burns, ulcerated tooth, blood-poisoning, and influenza were overcome. For peace of mind, and for the mental regeneration also, I am most grateful.

At the time of the passing on of my father and mother, the new sense of ever present Life and Love, which Christian Science teaches, healed my sorrow. Through the daily study, and with the help of loving practitioners and friends, I was able to find my place and individual work. I am grateful for the pure life of Mrs. Eddy, through whose teachings I am gaining a practical knowledge of God. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the privilege of class instruction.
