The following is in reply to an announcement made by a local church against Christian Science. Christian Science is the exact antithesis of a "religious delusion," for instead of deluding its followers, it clarifies the Scriptures to such a degree that they are found to be virile and vital, practical and provable. Thus Christian Scientists are enabled to accept without equivocation or excuse-making, the test of Christian discipleship given by Christ Jesus when he said, "By their fruits ye shall know them."

When Jesus was questioned by John the Baptist if he were the Christ, he answered by recounting his healings, confident that the argument of good works would be more convincing than the argument of unsupported words. Similarly the Christian Science movement has had its phenomenal spread among thinking people because, not only are its teachings logically appealing, but they are satisfactorily verified by the healing of the sick, the liberation and uplifting of the sin-bound, and the comforting of the sorrow-laden.
