Christian Science has done more for me than I can ever...
Christian Science has done more for me than I can ever express, and I can never be grateful enough for all the help I have received and am still receiving from it. Though there are still many problems to be solved, it has brought us innumerable blessings.
When I first began the systematic study of Christian Science in August, 1915, I was so lame from neuritis that I could hardly walk round the garden. A dear friend helped me, and in a week I was walking from ten to twelve miles a day over rough, hilly country. I had not been able to travel in the tube, but was healed the very first time I attempted it after coming into Science. Previous to this I had several times tried to overcome this inconvenient idiosyncrasy by will-power, but I always had to get out at the next station and felt ill for hours after.
I have been healed of a trouble I had suffered from since childhood, which caused me great pain and for which I was constantly laid up. Since coming into Science I have not been obliged to spend a whole day in bed, although before that I constantly had to do so, on account of fatigue, nerves, heart attacks, and so on. Periodic sore throats have also quite disappeared, and there is great freedom from colds and coughs. Burns from boiling water have been instantaneously healed by knowing the truth about God's child, and there has been no mark or even the slightest soreness. Wasp stings have been overcome instantaneously by my mother and myself. Almonds used to seem poisonous to me, but now I can eat them and there are no evil results. Indeed, there are so many things I could tell if space permitted. Often and often I have been healed of severe pain by my mother reading to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy; and the Journal, the Sentinel, and the Monitor, have also been very helpful.
