The Lectures

Dayton, Ohio (Auspices Second Church).—Mr. O. C. Elslager, introducing a Christian Science lecturer, said in part:—

In the fourteenth chapter of Exodus we read: "And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: ... The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward." Christian Scientists everywhere are proving daily that this statement, which was made to the children of Israel previous to their passage through the Red Sea, is as effective in working out our problems as it was to the Israelites when they were confronted by what seemed to them an insurmountable obstacle at the beginning of their journey to the promised land. After they were ready to depend entirely on God for their help, they received the command to "go forward," and we know the result of the demonstration which was made by them at that time.

We learn in our study of Christian Science that many of our problems to-day are similar to those which were met and solved by the children of Israel, and that all problems, whether they are business, mental, or physical, can be met and mastered by the proper application of the law of God which "healeth all thy diseases." We then "see the salvation of the Lord."
