I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science. One healing, especially, comes to me at this time. Some months ago, I felt indisposed for two days, and at the end of the third day I began to manifest the symptoms of influenza. I tried to realize the truth for myself,—that I was God's image and likeness, and as such I could not express anything except health; however, I did not get relief, so I called a practitioner. Almost immediately I relaxed,—I had been drawn up with a chilly feeling,—but the fever continued all night, at times being so high that I was delirious. At rational moments such comforting verses as these came to me: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God," and, "Underneath are the everlasting arms." Although I was suffering, I think I have never experienced such happiness, and such a full assurance that I was divinely protected. I awakened late in the morning without a vestige of pain. I worked about the house all morning, and did some clerical work in town that afternoon, and can truthfully say that I had never felt better in my life. This healing was an awakening to me as to what could be done in Christian Science toward nullifying the so-called after effects of influenza. I am also grateful for the healing the world is experienced in a business way.

I feel especially grateful at this time for our dear Leader's wonderful provisions for the maintenance of pure Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Edith Hill Carnes, Ardmore, Okla.
