Christian Science does indeed deny that a cancer or any form of evil is absolutely real. As Mrs. Eddy has said in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 335): "Reality is spiritual, harmonious, immutable, immortal, divine, eternal." Consistently with this teaching, however, Christian Scientists recognize that human experience includes evil and needs a remedy for it. In fact, Christian Science is the remedy by which human experience can be made better and better, until freedom from evil is fully attained. As regards the human sense of cancer or what not, Mrs. Eddy has stated the scientific explanation as follows: "Mortal mind sees what it believes as certainly as it believes what it sees" (Science and Health, p. 86). Persons suffering from cancer have been cured by Christian Science in more than a few authentic cases.
