I have now been a student of Christian Science for about nine years, and during that time I have had numerous healings of various kinds. Of these, however, I will mention only a few.

Whereas, before becoming interested in Christian Science, I used to be confined to the house for from two to six weeks each winter with colds, grippe, etc., for seven years after having my first treatment in Christian Science I never lost a day from work due to any physical disability. This does not mean that I never had anything seemingly to overcome, for I did; but always, either through my own understanding or through the loving help of practitioners, I was able to keep at my business. I have been healed of influenza, pneumonia, and other ills through Christian Science; and shortly after becoming interested the smoking habit left me without any effort or specific work. I had been an inveterate smoker for years.

I have learned to some extent that in business we must leave the work to God and not try to thrust in our own personality. I have had several illustrations of this when it seemed that the greater the effort put forth to attain a certain result, the greater was the confusion, and only when I withdrew my own personal sense were desirable results manifest.
