As an expression of my gratitude for the wonderful truth given us by the teachings of Christian Science, I wish to tell some of the many benefits I have received. Several years ago, the life of my little nephew was saved through Christian Science treatment. My sister, the mother of this boy, came home to visit at a time when I was miserable, physically and mentally, after I had tried doctor after doctor and many material means to gain health and peace, but in vain. This sister suggested that as a last resort I should try Christian Science. Not knowing anything about its teachings, and being afraid to go one day without medicine, I postponed having such help for a few weeks more. Finally, not having read a word of Christian Science, I went to a practitioner, simply to be healed, as I had tried the different kinds of doctors.

Previous to this I had always had a bowel difficulty and had arrived at the place where even the strongest laxatives would not always give relief. During these intervals I suffered with severe headaches, nausea, and dizzy spells. For this trouble I had one week's treatment and during that time experienced the first normal condition since childhood. From the time of this first help my one desire was to get an understanding of how Christian Science healed, in order that I might help others and also be healed of many other troubles I then had. One by one after this, through the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the loving, patient help of a practitioner, many healings came. When I turned to the truth for help I was suffering from a chronic condition of boils, more coming as fast as the others disappeared. They were very painful and had been present for months, and no relief was found by lancing, by inoculation, dieting, etc. This condition was healed through Christian Science.

My home life had been very inharmonious for years, and life seemed to me nothing but a series of troubles, one after another. I had become bitter, melancholy, and depressed. There did not seem to be a ray of brightness ahead of me or any way out. Shortly after receiving my first help in Christian Science a way opened up by which my home life changed completely. Since that time, through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science, all the aforementioned troubles have been healed. From a depressed, melancholy, irritable, bitter person I have become free, joyous, and strong. Eye trouble, manifested in sties on the eyelids (except when I wore glasses), was entirely eliminated years ago; and I have never found it necessary to return to the use of eyeglasses.
