[Written for the Sentinel]

Throughout Eternity

Dear Father-Mother God, within Thine arms
Outstretch'd in loving care to me, Thy son,
What joy is mine to know that we are one,
All one in Love—inseparably one
Throughout eternity.

What peace to know, no matter when or where
The mortal sense of life may seem to be,
That neither present things, nor things to come,
Can ever separate Thy love from me,
Throughout eternity.

Oh, Father-Mother God, Love infinite,
No doubt or fear could e'er again be mine,
Once having glimpsed that tender Love divine
Encircles, folds, embraces me and mine
Throughout eternity.

Throughout eternity! How sweet to know
That neither sense of time nor sense of space
Can e'er remove me from that heavenly place,
Where, safe I rest, held close in Love's embrace,
Throughout eternity.

Dear Father-Mother, make me all Thine own,
Thine, to serve; Thine, ever to obey
Thy every call; my debt of love to pay,
In humbly serving Thee from day to day
Throughout eternity.

And, Father-Mother God, remove, I pray,
Each selfish sense that hides my sense of Thee.
Thus let me grow in grace, and worthy be
To serve, love, honor, and obey just Thee,
Throughout eternity.
