Christian Science has brought to me the most valuable...

Christian Science has brought to me the most valuable of all possessions,—the knowledge of the continual presence of God, and of the right of each individual to attain a knowledge of His omnipotence. I am most grateful for the understanding of God I have gained in about four years' study of Christian Science, and for many proofs of His protecting care and loving wisdom. That man is truly the image of God and reflects His power over all discord, has been demonstrated to me in many ways. I have also learned that to take His yoke upon one brings peace and rest to the weary and heavy-laden; and that not only health, but abundance of all things necessary, inevitably follows obedience to His commands.

I was formerly a student of physiology, and intended to follow a career of teaching and research in this subject. But not long after being thoroughly healed of an obstinate case of neurasthenia through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, it became apparent that there was a serious difficulty in my pursuing this branch of study; and I therefore decided to turn to the only other subject in which I had received training,—chemistry. It was seemingly rather difficult for a time; but there was the continual assurance that the change had been made by direction of a higher than human will, and therefore that all necessary provision, both of material means of support and of the ideas needful for research work, were prepared in abundance, and would appear at the right moment. In the two years that have elapsed since that time, a line of research has been suggested, and, as it has been followed, has been very fruitful in results and has led to extensions in fresh directions; moreover, an appointment has come which now enables me to devote my whole time to the work. On several occasions, seeming difficulties in the work have been overcome by correcting errors in my own thought. For some time, no progress at all was made. Then, one day, it was pointed out to me that if I believed I was not happy in the work, it probably would not prosper. Since that time it has gone forward, and often very rapidly. More recently, a sense of great fatigue threatened to interfere seriously; and this was not fully overcome till I found I had been thinking that the work was very tedious. Knowing that God's work is not tedious removed the sense of fatigue.

I am most grateful also for other physical healings, and for freedom from many medical laws of limitation, which Christian Science has brought to my wife and myself and our little girl. It has been proved to us that the removal of the mental cause of any ailment, through Christian Science, is a complete and satisfactory cure of so-called physical ailments.—N. K. Adam, Sheffield, England.
