I owe a debt of gratitude to Christian Science, and so I am sending this testimony with the earnest desire that it may help others as I have been helped and healed. My first introduction to Christian Science was through a Christian Science Sentinel. The text on the outside cover immediately attracted my attention: "'What I say unto you I say unto all—WATCH.'" And being an earnest Bible student, I was not only willing but eager to read the contents. As I read, it seemed as though I had believed this way all my life; and yet I was badly in need of healing. The testimonies of healing interested me greatly. Here was a definite proof that God does heal the sick; and just like a flash came the thought, Then it is not God's will for anybody to be sick! I was convinced that I could now say, "Thy will be done," without fear that suffering was sent from God. Only those who have come "out of darkness into his marvellous light," can have any idea of what this meant to me.

I had always been a delicate child, having developed a serious case of bronchitis at the early age of six weeks. This continued to come back at intervals; and I suffered terribly, several times each year, with suppurating ears, diphtheric throat, weakness, and all the various complaints that go with consumption. I had believed this was my cross; and thought that by being meek and patient under all circumstances I was doing my part to prove I was a Christian. As far back as I can remember, I yearned to know more about God, and my prayers were for wisdom and understanding.

After reading this wonderful messenger of Truth and Love, the Sentinel, also the ninth chapter of Matthew, I knew I was healed; and the healing was instantaneous. I could see to read without glasses, which had been worn for reading, writing, and sewing for over fourteen years. Only a few weeks previous to this I had had my eyes tested by an eye specialist, for stronger glasses; and he had told me there never could be any improvement, and that the best he could do for me was to change my glasses from time to time as required. To be thus quickly healed seemed a miracle to me, but I soon learned that it was divinely natural.
