Christian Scientists endeavor to practice the Golden Rule and to be charitable towards those who may not agree with them, respecting honest conviction wherever they find it; and they therefore avoid controversy, never attacking or abusing the religious beliefs of others, but replying when necessary to correct misrepresentations.

Christian Science cannot be rightly classed with either paganism or Buddhism, for it radically differs from both. Neither are Christian Scientists Mormons; and no person would make such a charge if he understood what Christian Science is and what it teaches, or had acquaintance with the practice and effects of Christian Science. Christian Science is what it claims to be, and nothing else. It is Christian because it faithfully follows the teachings of Christ Jesus, the Founder of Christianity. It is Science because it is exact knowledge of the real (spiritual) universe and the laws which govern it; or, in other words, it is the truth about God and man, and man's relation to God. The healing work of this Science of Christianity is accomplished by the same means and methods which Jesus used nineteen hundred years ago; that is, by demonstrating the ever available power of God to destroy human ills.

To declare that Christian Science does not heal is to utterly ignore or misrepresent the facts. That Christian Science does heal all manner of disease, as well as sin, is well established by indisputable evidence. The Scriptures say that God's "hand is not shortened, that it cannot save." Spiritual power is not limited in its ability to cope with every form of disease. Christian Scientists everywhere are living witnesses to that; and many of them have obtained their release from sickness and disease after having tried other means in vain.
