Prior to 1916 I had had many demonstrations of healing through Christian Science, but had not taken a sufficiently active interest in the subject to enable me to make demonstrations for myself. The winter of that year I called on a practitioner for help at my approaching confinement. The practitioner turned my thought from the contemplation of the physical condition and awakened me to my duty of spiritual advancement. Though the mother of seven children, with all of the duties involved in the bringing up of a large family, I took the time to read our Lesson-Sermon every day. There were many discordant conditions in our home, but through the loving help of the practitioner they were overcome, and at the birth of my child every condition was so perfectly natural and harmonious that we marveled.

I have since that time been able to overcome many kinds of sickness for my children, through my understanding of Christian Science. This baby, when about eleven months old, fell, striking his face against a hot stove, and was badly burned. All the neighbors noticed the burn and predicted that he would be scarred for life, but he was perfectly healed without any scar being left. Last winter my children and I came down with influenza at the same time. My eldest son came home one morning very ill. We telephoned for help in Science, and by evening he was practically healed. The next day he was able to go out to attend to the needs of the other members of the family, all of whom had beautiful demonstrations of Love's healing power. Words fail me in my attempt to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful gift to mankind.
