I feel a great impelling desire to add my testimony to...
I feel a great impelling desire to add my testimony to the thousands which appear in our periodicals, telling of an experience that I recently passed through which proved unmistakably the operation of Truth. I had passed through a series of domestic problems each one of which seemed to add a greater burden, until I found myself in the place where I had a large summer home to look after with no help, my two little girls aged two and five and a half to care for, while my mother was in bed, seemingly unable to help herself, under a physician's care. I was able to do things that I had never done before, upheld and sustained by Truth. One day I began to experience severe pain and pressure which made it difficult for me to stand and walk without suffering. I phoned to a practitioner and was treated absently, but the pain seemingly increased each day, although I said nothing about it to my mother and was able to keep the semblance of suffering from her notice; and it did not keep me from my daily duties, which were attended to the same as usual. When I awoke one morning it seemed almost impossible to arise; I did my mental work first and then arose and was able to do the physical work necessary. Later in the day while I was on my feet, something dropped, and stooping to pick it up, I realized that I was free—free from pain and pressure. What I picked up was a stone, a jagged, hard substance which had passed from me. When the physician came to the house and saw it, he told my husband that he had never seen so large a stone pass without a surgical operation. Another physician who inquired into the case said it was almost an impossibility. However, in Science we know that nothing is impossible to God. Through this experience my mother turned to Science for treatment and was up and dressed and downstairs within the week, while materia medica had promised nothing less than six to eight weeks in bed, with medicine and material appliances continually. The following week I was healed of a serious bite from a green house fly, in two absent treatments. These two experiences have been a wonderful, uplifting help to me, and have given me a firmer foothold in the only truth there is, the understanding of man's relation to God and the establishment of that relation which brings dominion and peace.
