Eight years ago Christian Science found me a constant sufferer from chronic indigestion and stomach trouble. Having had medical treatment by reliable physicians for several years, without relief, I was urged to try Christian Science, but insisted that I had no faith in it. At last when my condition became acute I called at the office of a Christian Science practitioner whom I had met in a business way and asked for help. It was with great reluctance that I did this, because the old church had utterly failed to satisfy my religious yearning and under the circumstances I hesitated to seek physical relief through such a channel. At first I did not feel any physical benefit from the treatment and had little faith, yet I had promised a friend that I would give it a trial and felt in honor bound to do so. With the fourth treatment I was completely healed and from that day to this have never had the slightest recurrence.

At all times since, I have been able to obey Paul's command, "Whatsoever is set before you, eat," and have never experienced the slightest ill effect thereby. During these years I have found Christian Science equal to every physical emergency as well as at home and in the business world. My gratitude for these blessings, which are indeed manifold, has caused me to study the Scriptures in the light of Christian Science, and I am beginning to realize the spiritual import of these words, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent." There have been times when I have lacked faith and understanding, yet have always found at my right hand some Christian Scientist whose larger experience has enabled him or her to stretch forth a helping hand and lift me up.

The regeneration has begun and I can say in the words of the psalmist, "I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." On page 4 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy tells us that "outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and heartfelt gratitude, since he has said: 'If ye love me, keep my commandments.'"
