Because of thankfulness to God and gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for Christian Science, and for the opportunity she has given us in the Journal and Sentinel to express gratitude to the world, I wish to add my testimony. In 1906 after physicians had told me I could never be well and every material remedy upon which I had depended had failed, I decided to try Christian Science, which had been presented to me many times, but had not been accepted because of ignorance and prejudice. I soon found that it was the same truth taught and practiced by our blessed Master, for with my healing came a most wonderful light and spiritual uplift, giving a new meaning to the Bible, which before had been in a large measure a closed book, although from girlhood I had been a member of and an earnest worker in an orthodox church. I was healed of chronic bowel trouble, chronic catarrh, sick headaches, neuralgia, hemorrhoids, and a kidney affection. About three years later I was healed of an abnormal growth in less than three weeks through one treatment from a Christian Science practitioner and my own understanding of the power of Truth. Christian Science has been a most wonderful help to me during the past eight years, enabling me to do my work as a music teacher without the slightest weariness and with patience and love.

I am grateful for the Lesson-Sermons, which have filled a need felt long before I knew about Christian Science. I am grateful for all our periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor, a newspaper which stands for clean journalism and is a blessing to all mankind; also for class instruction.—(Mrs.) Josephine B.
