The Lectures

Marion, Ill. (Society).—William D. Kilpatrick, lecturer; introduced by Mrs. Amy Hollan, who said in part:—

Christian Science is the revelation of Christ, Truth, to this age. To the weary and heavy laden it brings peace and rest; to the sick and afflicted it brings health, joy, and happiness. In that most wonderful book, the Bible, we have these words: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." To Christian Scientists the word trouble signifies all sin, all sickness, all business perplexities—in fact, all human experience that is not harmonious. Christian Science begins with the First Commandment of the Hebrew decalogue, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Our Master said of every follower, "The works that I do shall he do also," and, "The kingdom of God is within you." We have these promises and many more; and to know that the kingdom of God is within, is to realize that we have health, peace, love, and in fact all good. The keynote of Christian Science is love, love for God and man. It teaches that there is one infinite Mind, God, and that man is the reflection of that Mind.
