Innumerable sermons against Christian Science have been preached on the text chosen by a recent critic, namely, I Timothy 6:20, 21. Again and again has the same verdict, "Neither Christian nor Scientific," been pronounced; and yet there is an ever increasing number of intelligent men and women the whole world over, continually proving it to be both, and giving tangible proof of the fact in restored health and uplifted character. To describle Christian Science as "a medley of bad philosophy, confused Christianity, and an ecstatice optimism which cures all evil by denying it," is very much easier than to refute this proof, which cannot be so summarily disposed of. Either the anomaly of a "corrupt tree" bringing forth "good fruit" must be accepted, or the conclusion reached that this critic has been misinformed.
