Having been greatly helped and blessed by reading the testimonies in our periodicals, I wish to express my gratitude through these columns for the great gift of Christian Science. I am very grateful for the working out of a recent problem. The careful study of an article in one of our pamphlets enabled me to gain a clear realization of the truth about the situation; and while I am very grateful for having received the desired result, far above and beyond that is my gratitude for the understanding which enables us to apply God's law rightly to every difficulty, and the knowledge that the result is a blessing to us individually and to all concerned.
I have had many physical healings as a result of the application of Christian Science, and it was for physical healing that I first took up the study, over eleven years ago. From early childhood I had suffered from a throat trouble. I tried every remedy and treatment that materia medica offered, but was not healed, and finally physicians gave me no encouragement but recommended a change of climate. I therefore went to southern California to live, but there was no improvement in my condition. Then I heard of Christian Science and at the request of a member of my family I began the study of it, but several years passed before I was entirely healed.
Each day I am more grateful for having found Christian Science a demonstrable religion, meeting every need when correctly applied. I am also very grateful for the authorized literature. For all the blessings received through the study of this teaching and through membership in The Mother Church and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, which I am learning daily means unfoldment more than enrollment, I am indeed grateful to God and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—(Miss) Helena A. Wood, Atlantic City, N. J.
