It affords me great pleasure to give testimony of my healing through Christian Science. Six years ago I was a habitual drunkard and an inveterate smoker, but thanks be to God and to Christian Science I was healed by reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I have not the least desire to drink or to smoke. I am very grateful for these healings and for the spirtual uplift which has come to me through the study of the Lesson-Sermon. One Saturday in March, 1918, I was knocked down and run over by an automobile, but through the declaration of the truth I was able to get from under the back end of the car and walk home. My legs were very much bruised and there was still some pain, but it was overcome quickly, so that I was able to walk down town and back. In the evening, however, I felt pains in my back and hips. Then I called a practitioner and received help, so that I was able to go to church Sunday morning and to my work the next day.

I am thankful to God for this divine protection, which has been unfolded to us through Christian Science. It has been my only stay for six years, and I know through pure living it will continue to keep me.
