In February, 1912, I came to Christian Science

In February, 1912, I came to Christian Science. I had been sick for more than a year with what the doctors called intestinal poisoning. The first physician, after doing all he could for me, sent to Detroit for a specialist. In following the latter's directions, however, I grew worse instead of better. The last physician who attended me said I could not live three weeks unless I got help, that he had sent for the best medicine he could obtain. My daughter then told him that if it did not help me she was going to have me try Christian Science. After he had gone I asked her why she said that when she knew Christian Science could not do me any good. A practitioner had been to visit me several times during my illness, but the thought of my taking up Christian Science had never occurred to me. After my daughter's remark I got to thinking about it, and decided that if God had healed others there was no reason why He could not heal me. I therefore sent for the practitioner who had called upon me, treatments were given me, and I was healed.

Besides the intestinal trouble I have been healed of an ovarian tumor, an abnormal condition of the kidneys, and various other ailments. I do all my work and am healthy and well. Christian Science has given me confidence to do things which I never thought I could do. I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader, who has given us Science and Health.—(Mrs.) Luella Beam, Lawton, Mich.
