One day I had occasion to be most grateful for a spiritual lesson gleaned from the actions of a little bird. After my spiritual morning meal, the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, I started to my place of business. On the corner neary my home is a public drinking fountain and there I noticed a little sparrow, who seemed quite fatigued. As he rested beside the fountain, he reached down and drank of the fresh, cool water; then immediately refreshed he flew away singing. So it is with the one who comes to the fountain of Truth and Love, drinks therefrom and purifies himself, then goes on his way rejoicing.
Through the study and application of Christian Science I have been healed of what is known as arteriosclerosis, appendicitis, and many other ills. The effects of a serious trouble, called an aortic aneurism, of about seven years' standing have also been completely overcome. For over five years Christian Science has been my only physician. It has opened wide the door of Life and shown me that all that is beautiful and good is from God, for He created all and pronounced it "very good." Through the application of its teachings I was able to take up the work of instructor in a radio school of the Army, although I had not used the wireless at all, nor telegraphy for a period of fourteen years. This proved to me that the popular thought of forgetting is unknown to divine Mind.
Words are beyond my command to express my gratitude for Christian Science. My daily prayer is to live so as to reflect more of this great truth, which indeed makes us free.
