In Acts we read how the Lord delivered Peter from prison. I also was seemingly in a prison when Christian Science came to my aid. My prison was a sanitarium, my chains were a belief of tubercular disease. I had been studying the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, nearly every day, and the practitioner had been out to see me about twice, when one morning I realized that this was no place for God's child. I at once decided to leave as soon as possible; for I realized that man's birthright is freedom. Upon mentioning this to one of the other patients I was told that I could not leave without the consent of the head doctor and nurse, but the thought came, "Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it;" and so it proved. Not long after this the doctor, being at our home, asked to test my lungs, and when he had finished he pronounced them "perfectly healed."

For this healing and many other blessings I am very grateful; also for the better understanding of God that I have gained through the study of our textbook.
