Our beloved Leader tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 66), "Trials are proofs of God's care." This has recently been made clear to me. About a year ago I removed from Detroit, Michigan, to Brooklyn, New York. As my son was attending Michigan University at that time it was thought wise to leave him behind. To mortal sense this was, in my case, exceedingly difficult to do on account of the seeming reality of the separation, and was the cause of a nervous breakdown. Christian Science treatment was asked for, and within three days the ailment was beautifully overcome; and now I can readily see what is meant by the above quotation. That trial was preparing me for a larger sense of separation; namely, that of giving up my son to take his rightful place in the present world struggle for humanity. I can honestly say I am happy and grateful that he is one of the many young men of our country who have taken a stand for Principle. I have no fear for him, knowing divine Love fills all space and will care for him.

I have had many healings in Christian Science; but especially for the one above mentioned am I most thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy.
