I have received untold blessings through the knowledge of Christian Science, having been helped spiritually, morally, and physically, and am deeply grateful. Most of the treatment I have received has been absent, very often by a practitioner a long way off, but I have always been helped, sometimes instantaneously. I have also been healed by reading Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." One particular time I would like to tell about.

I was in the country away from any possibility of getting help from a practitioner and had one evening what appeared to be a fever. I was feeling very miserable, so went to my room to read and try to realize the truth as taught in Science and Health. When my sister asked me to go with her to a friend's house with a message from my mother, my first thought was that I could not possibly go out, as it was a very cold, stormy night; but I then remembered that I professed to believe in God as omnipotent, All, and if I really believed it, there was nothing to be afraid of, so I went. My friends remarked that I looked very flushed, but said no more. On getting home I was still feeling very bad, so went back to my room and began to read again. When I came to the place where Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 376), "Destroy fear, and you end fever," I shut the book. I saw it was fear, not fever, from which I was suffering, and there was nothing to fear. I went downstairs and spent the evening as usual, and that was the end of the supposed fever; I was so completely healed I forgot all about it, and only remembered it again many months afterward.

I am very grateful for this experience, as it has proved for me how absolutely true are Mrs. Eddy's statements in Science and Health.
